Hello les lyonnais,

J'organise avec la marque pour laquelle je travail une expo du photographe "Cédric Viollet", sur le Fixed Gear à Londres. 2 vélos réalisé par cyclope seront aussi présentés.

c'est le jeudi 18 septembre à 19h a la boutik kulte, 16 rue Paul Chenavard (lyon 1er), c'est OPEN BAR.

vous étes tous plus que les bienvenues à boire un coup au vernissage.

petite bio de l'artiste (en anglais sorry) :

CÈdric Viollet was born in 1975 in a small town in the West of France.  From 1988 to 2000 he spent his time painting, skateboarding, traveling and studying history of Art.

The urge to have a tangible impression of the outer world got hold of Cedric during the summer of 2000 while on a Greyhound bus tour of California. He bought then his first camera, a compact, and he had his films developed every night at the one-hour-photo shops that crossed his path.

As self-taught photographer, he shot everything he could get his eyes on. The discovery of the works of Joseph Koudelka and Daido Moriyama also opened up to Cedric a new, less rigid approach to photography that varies from medium format to Polaroid, from black and white to colors. The camera has become a tool to be used to legitimize sensibility.

´ In my work, the separation between public and private is very ambiguous: most of the time I shoot not what I see but what I feelÖ ª

As an reaction to the non-stop over-exposure to sleek and targeted images provided by the media, Cedric retreated to a less polished, evocative visual language where the viewer isn't hold hostage of the photographer's (or who for him) will, but it's left free to wander and to discover his own meaning.

Living between Montpellier, Paris and Italy he also travels often throughout Europe. Since the end of 2006, he has been focusing on a new long-term project, ´ FxTxW ª, in which is images are intertwined with sounds that he recorded on the road. The fixed-bike exhibition is journey throughout London among the community of fixed gear bikers.

Parce que Lyon c'est loin de Grenoble hehehe, et que je suis censé aller à la fac. Vaste blague.

Jvais motiver un collègue ou deux, ça pourrait etre sympa.

je serais là, je vais essayer de prendre mon vélo, mais ya peu de chances que je puisse rouler, je pars le lendemain matin dans le beaujolais
